After developing our first Flowdrill, Inc. custom machine over 15 years ago, we found there was a need for a robust spindle solution for friction drilling applications. With our experience in developing spindles for friction drill ing applications, we decided to produce a series of spindles. Our spindles are  designed to address issues that other friction drilling spindles do not address.

We developed the CAI-1800, CAI-2000, and CAI-2100 spindles for use in our custom friction drilling equipment. Since their introduction to the market, our CAI-spindles have been used not only in friction drilling applications, but drilling, boring, and milling operations as well.

Whether you application uses friction drilling, thermal drilling, flow drilling, form drilling, friction stir drilling, drilling, boring, or milling, we have the right spindle for you.

Production flow-drilling and flow-tapping can be very demanding on equipment. With literally thousands of maintenance-free hours logged in industry, the CAI series spindles are designed and manufactured to deliver rock solid performance month after month, year after year.

Our spindles support a variety of collet sizes ranging from ER16 to ER40. Custom collet sizing is available upon request.

6`` Standard Slide

Our standard 6″ slide provides for ample clearance for part loading and unloading parts of varying sizes.

Our spindles can be fitted with a custom-made cooling solution to extend tooling life.

6`` Heavy Duty Slide

Our heavy duty 6″ slide has the rigidity to handle the toughest jobs while providing for ample clearance for part loading and unloading.

Warranty and Replacement Parts

Two-Year Warranty

We stand behind our CAI spindles and slides with a two year warranty. This warranty covers repairs or replacement of the CAI spindle or slide components manufactured by CAI.

Replacement Parts

We manufacture and stock replacement parts in-house at our Vinemont, Alabama facility. Custom-machined parts can be created as well.
